This thing has been on Craigslist for a while (no surprise there). Wild and highly questionable.

“1986 Nissan 300ZX 44,000 Miles! Wide Body Paul Newman!” according to the seller. Apparently the IMSA kit was “molded from original Paul Newman cars in CT” but it’s not actually a turbo and has been converted to carbs. I think it looks pretty cool. Someone rich needs to buy this and turn it into a track day special. Preferably with a VH45DE swap and without touching the paint whatsoever.

True story, I almost bought that car on eBay for WAY less money than that. It was a while ago and the car was maybe $2000, I ended up going with (and almost instantly regretting) a ‘64 Barracuda, but I wanted that Z for LeMons and I was 100% sure I would get an exemption on the price because of the body kit.

NOOOO you really should’ve done it. I would pay him $2000 just for the kit. But with that info in hand perhaps one might be able to get the entire car for next to nothing.

The popups look killer encased in several inches of body kit. Epic!

I feel like this would require less skills and funds than you’d think! Someone else commented that they almost bought this for 2k on ebay a while back. Haggle for the car, strip off the kit, slap it on a mint car.

Mmmm, I love the look of those old school wide body kits, especially ones for racing. These look so much better than the rocket bunny rivet on crap lately.

Man, the want is strong here. Freshen it up, give it a real engine, open up the fenders properly, give it a set of Work wheels, and own the next JCCS.

This would make for a great project for a youtuber. Building this into a somewhat serious track car would be a great series.

I bet you could haggle this guy way down. As someone else commented (incredibly, oppo is such a small world) they almost bought it on Ebay for $2k. The body kit alone would probably be worth saving for that much.

Nothing on that looks done well. Who would want such a kit?
